A little bit about overseas students.
For over a month I tried so hard not to comment on negative stuff people say about students who went overseas for studying (duh) because I'm not really comfortable with people labeling me as "berlagak tak sedar diri". But allow me, this once, to actually tell you what happens there and what we sought asides from the experience.

For those who don't feel like right-clicking, let me tell you what it's about. The author, who I assume went to overseas too, is saying that there are two kinds of "BUDAK OVERSEA", ones who go socializing and partying, and the ones who go for tarbiyyah, usrah and stuffs. The latter are always deemed as 'the sad one, the one who's missing out' while the fore are the ones who benefited their time there. (Of course, the post was rather sarcastic) and in the end the author asked; which kind of "Budak Oversea" do you choose to be?
The sad thing is, they neglected another kind of students. Our kind. The ones who are friends with both parties. The ones who befriend with literally everybody, from everywhere, be it Middle East or the West side of the globe. The ones who party, but neverhate despise tarbiyyah (not because of the free food, but because of the knowledge it gives). The ones who are neither of what he described, but failed in studies anyway (because I don't study, my fault). The ones who join activities held by everybody, but know where/when to stop. And BTW we NEVER drink, obviously.
WHAT ABOUT US, KAMPUNG PEOPLE WHO STILL VALUES OUR CULTURE AND APPRECIATE INTEGRATION?
WHAT ABOUT US, WHO WENT OVERSEAS AND SAW THE BIGGER PICTURE, WHICH IS BASICALLY WHAT YOUR SPONSOR HOPES YOU TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE?
